A photograph perfectly frames and defies the passage of time by capturing a moment from our lives. Motion photography defies many of the established rules, and if you don’t understand the fundamentals of motion photography, you’ll miss the moment in the blink of an eye.
Frozen Colour: In a shape of a hand
Freezing the entire scene can give your photos a unique look, particularly if the objects strongly suggest movement. Consider the case of a bird flying in front of a waterfall. To the viewer, both imply movement.The shutter speed you use and the movement of your subject will help you decide which method to use to capture motion in photos.

As a photographer, I had two basic options. I could either use motion blur to give the impression of movement and speed or freeze the action to capture a specific moment. Long exposure is the most obvious, yet few people use it well. When you want to show action, use a slower shutter speed. Another technique to demonstrate movement with a lengthy shutter speed is to use a tripod and set your camera’s shutter speed to anything closer to 20 to 30 seconds.

Panning is another technique a photographer can employ to convey movement. Panning is a simple yet efficient method that produces the opposite effect of the long exposure approach. A photographer panning sets the shutter speed to a slower pace anywhere between 1/15th and 1/30th of a second then moves the camera at the same speed as the subject. The subject will be more in focus as a result, while the background will be less so.

Photographers can use both a slow and a rapid shutter to capture motion. The motion will be blurred if you choose a slow shutter speed, which can be used to produce a motion effect. This effect is used in panning photographs, in which the background is blurred while the moving subject is in focus. The moving subject is caught in motion by using a fast shutter speed. This technique is used for such things as water splashes. This chapter explores the concept of time dilation. Water splashes, panning shots, balloon bursts, and other tactics have all been used.
