Brihadeeshwara Temple (Peruvudaiyar Kovil) is a Hindu Shiva temple in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, India. RajaRajeswara Temple and Rajarajesvaram are some of the other names for it. It is one of India’s greatest temples and a fine example of Chola Dravidian architecture. The temple, which was finished in 1010 AD by the emperor Raja Raja Chola I, celebrated its 1000th anniversary in 2010.
