Abstract photography, sometimes referred to as non-objective, experimental, or conceptual photography, is a technique for capturing visual images that are made using photographic tools, techniques, or materials but do not immediately relate to the world of objects. An abstract photograph may isolate a portion of a natural scene in order to eliminate the viewer’s natural environment, it may be staged on purpose to make actual objects appear unreal, or it may make use of colour, light, shadow, texture, shape, and/or form to evoke a feeling, sensation, or impression.

It is a visual language based on the composition of shapes, colours, forms, and lines with a disregard for any prior visual references.In this kind of photography, textures and patterns frequently appear.
