Doors and windows are there and they are full of patterns, textures and designs. They call to be photographed.
If window could speak, they could have many stories to tell. Window record life, They witness the passing season and moments of joy and grief. They bring the first ray of light and fresh air that they breath. We have them all around us but we fail to recognize the life within them. While passing through the street of Mattancherry. I saw some beautifully textured wall. I started to ferch for the textured walls and varitey of windows and door. Many windows have movable window coverings such as blinds or curtains to keep out light, provide additional insulation, or to ensure privacy. Windows allow natural light to enter, but too much can have negative effects such as glare and heat gain. Additionally, while windows let the user see outside, there must be a way to maintain privacy on in the inside. Window coverings are practical accommodations for the issues.
Windows of Hope: Windows perfectly balance the negative space in the architecture. It is one of the element that metaphorically conveys a positive thing becomes valuable when there is negative space.
Doors and Windows
A house is a building, a family makes it a Home. The house seperates the Home from the society and doors and windows in the house serve as the channel of communication between the two. How transparent or opaque these doors and windows are varies from culture to culture. Urban India seems to be struggling to strike a balance between privacy and gregariousness. Rural India on the other hand, has porous doors and windows. In rural households most of the outside is inside and most of the inside outside.
The boundaries between home, neighbourhood, business and community are blurred. It is through these very doors and windows that social, cultural and financial transactions take place. People spend a lot of their time at the doors & windows, watching, chatting, playing or just relaxing. Outsiders have full access to the inside. On a Positive note, we humans feel that the light, windows bring in illuminates the whole room our heart and things beyond. Everybody has their own stories to dream about and to share.
Doors and windows are the openings of light in the darkest rooms: Sometimes in life certain doors and windows should be opened to allow the light inside to eliminate the darkness.
A Tribute to Creative Souls
Every imaginer must have felt this tremendous experience; this post is for them. Windows and doors share internally. Everyone must have experienced this tremendous mood, eyes concentrated on distant horizons unknown but feelings flattering all around as enlarges our mental arena. Eye-catching colours are essential for generating responses. They provide interest to a photo without compositional elements. Choose a two-color palette and experiment with complementing and contrasting tones for maximum impact. Because doors and windows are stationary, take our time when photographing them. They witnessed so many generations that most doors and windows were shuttered. I guess people don’t want to talk anymore
Colours decide weather to transmit or obstruct : Colours that reflect the light are the colours that block the light from getting inside
