Shooting the 2024 Kerala election was a rollercoaster of unforgettable moments and unexpected joys. Coming from Gujarat, I felt like a fish out of water in Kerala, tackling the election frenzy solo. Even though I didn’t speak the language, my love for photography kept me going, introducing me to a new crowd—news reporters, freelance photographers, and local candidates from each party. Enduring the blazing summer heat was tough, but my excitement never waned. And diving into self-publishing to create my book? That was a thrilling first-time ride, adding another layer of excitement to an already amazing journey.

About Myself: My name is Heet Dave, and I’m from Gujarat. My perspective on photographing people and scenes has been significantly changed by my photographic experience. Painting and photography seem to me to be the most direct and efficient means of expressing ideas. A photograph or painting, in my opinion, communicates more effectively than words or gestures since they create feelings and moments through color, actions, and situations.
