Although the main attraction of Bandipur is the national animal tiger, leopards, variety of monkeys, deers, sloth berars, different species of birds, bisens can also found here abundantly. Moreover it is a heaven for photographers, mainly wildlife photographers who get a chance to capture live action with their Camera at such an affordable expense.
The forest deparment of Bandipur has allotted both the bus tour and the jeep safari. The bus can carry upto 15 persons and take a trip deep into the forest at regular inervals starting from early in the morning. The authorities schedule the bus tour for one hour. The jeep safari that can take 6 persons at the same time gives much more wider outlook of the area Though the cost of the jeep safari is a little bit high wildlife photographers and experts prefers them as it covers more area and also has half an hour more than the bus ride. One noteworthy aspect is the extensive experience of the driver/guides, who make every effort to obtain the sighting.
At Bandipur, visitors often spot the tiger early in the morning and late in the evening, making it the center of attention. Authorities schedule tours to maximize tiger sightings during these times. Apart from all these still the main highlight of the Bandipur tiger reserve is the perfect maintenance of the ecological balance that we are not able to see around very commonly these days.
