Basil Mathew, from Ernakulam, Kerala, acquired his strong enthusiasm for photography while spending time with his uncle, an experienced photographer. His excitement with his uncle's spectacular images sparked a lifelong interest in photography. He aspired to be a professional photographer after being inspired by his uncle's work. He proceeded on his photographic journey, guided by his tutor, learning that photography is an art of exact decision-making at the appropriate moment.With his uncle's continual support and direction, he moved into the field of visual storytelling, and he has continued to experiment and improve as a photographer over the years.

Having completed a Professional Diploma in the Art of Photography and Cinematography at Kerala's Creative Hut Institute of Photography during the academic year 2018-19, he has sharpened his talents in mastering the technical details and techniques that lead to mesmerizing photography. His proficiency is further exemplified by his Kerala Government Technical Examination (KGTE) certification in photography.

Through his lens, he creates moments that evoke emotions, tell tales, and reflect the world's tremendous beauty. He has also done a Photographic Portfolio titled as “Becoming’s”. His photographic attempts demonstrate a fundamental relationship between technical perfection and the art of visual storytelling, making him a noteworthy figure in the worlds of photography and cinematography.
