Street photography is the genre of photography that captures the unnoticed moments in a street. It captures the daily life in a public place. A street photograph carries a visual message in some capacity. There is an endless stream of creative possibilities in street photography. Unlike indoor portraits or still-life studio shots, the street has it all. It is all about candidly taking human life and nature. Street photography involves portraits, documentary, architecture, abstract art, etc. Most of the people we encounter in the streets, like street vendors, street performers, etc. are kind and benevolent. But we usually don’t recognize that. Some people are harsh only because life has been tough for them.
But if we treat them with courtesy, they will also treat us with respect.

Eyes of the Street
Street portraits are the best way to describe a person. The idea is to make a connection with someone and have the other individuals feel the same way. Their eyes, expressions, and body language tell a lot about them. The background and surroundings help further to, tell the story. There is an authentic element to street portraits. It can be a close up of their face, or a full body portrait. It can also include their actions or activity in the street. These things tell a lot about who they are and what their story is. The chapter “Benignant Beings” tells the stories of the people in the streets. Some are street performers, and some merchants selling vegetables. They all have a story to tell. All we have to do is listen.
