The best images illustrate the photographer’s own relationship to nature and capture the soul of the world around them, from broad panoramas to small minutiae.

Astrophotography, or photographing the stars, moon, and Milky Way galaxy at night, is one of the most difficult and rewarding genres of landscape photography. Nighttime landscape photography necessitates completely different camera settings and technique than daytime landscape photography, but the results will be well worth the effort. People in this last category feel that images must not only portray reality, but that they must also be untouched in order to do so. They believe that a photograph should be printed in the same manner as it was taken.

While this may be true for certain types of “SCENARY” photography, I believe the contrary is true when it comes to art and my work. I thought that discussing my artistic style would help at the time. So I explained that the color changes, alterations, and visual tweaks I performed were typical of my style, and that my purpose was to show how I saw the world.
