Script of our Short Film called “An Amateur Thief”. The screenplay of the Short Film is shot near Toms Engineering College Mattakara At Tea a Shop. Directed By Devika and DOP by Prathamesh Mutekar.
- EXT. TEA SHOP – DAY
It’s a calm morning in a quaint village. The tea shop exudes an aura of warmth and familiarity.
- EXT. OUTSIDE TEA SHOP – DAY
Pavan stands beside the tea shop, a mischievous glint in his eye as he enjoys his cup of tea, soaking in the lively atmosphere.
As Pavan savors his tea, a car pulls up near the tea shop and comes to a stop.
- EXT. OUTSIDE TEA SHOP – DAY
From the car emerges a man, who heads towards the tea shop with purpose.
Pavan’s gaze shifts towards the car, his interest piqued by the arrival. I am sensing an opportunity.
- EXT. OUTSIDE TEA SHOP – DAY
Pavan sets his tea glass aside with a clink against the wall,
[the onset of suspenseful music signaling his next move.]With a cautious glance, he makes his way towards the car, his steps deliberate and calculated.
Cont’d.
Pavan approaches the car and attempts to open the first door [with feigned ease] but it remains firmly shut, [eliciting a surprised expression from him.]
Cont’d.
Undeterred, Pavan tries the back door, hoping for an easier entry, but his efforts are met with the same resistance. Frustration begins to creep in as he tries again and again, only to be met with disappointment.
Cont’d.
[With a mixture of apprehension and hope]Pavan tries the driver’s door, and to his relief, it opens effortlessly.
- INT. INSIDE THE CAR – DAY
Pavan closes the door behind him, [unaware that it has automatically locked.]
- INT. INSIDE THE CAR – DAY
He hastily begins searching the car, his movements frantic as he checks every nook and cranny in search of valuables.
- INT. INSIDE THE CAR – DAY
He bends down the seat to find something, His head knocks against the dashboard accidentally while coming up, triggering an idea. With a swift motion, he opens the dashboard, revealing a wallet nestled inside. Pavan’s eyes widen as he retrieves the wallet, believing he’s hit the jackpot.
Cont’d.
[Pavan’s joy quickly turns to panic] as he tries to open the door but finds it locked. [Tension mounts] as he sees the man approaching, and his frantic attempts to unlock the door prove futile.- EXT. OUTSIDE TEA SHOP – DAY
Fortunately, the man gets a call and starts to talk on the phone.
- INT. INSIDE THE CAR – DAY
Then he goes back out of the car thinking he can hide there.
- EXT. OUTSIDE TEA SHOP – DAY
The man begins to approach the car after finishing the call, as he approaches near the door his attention is momentarily diverted by the shopkeeper’s call.
- INT. INSIDE THE CAR – DAY
Pavan, [seizing the opportunity], makes his way out of the car and starts running backside. While running his Cap fell and he came back to pick it up and started running again.
Cut To.
- EXT. SOMEWHERE FAR FROM THE TEA SHOP- DAY
Pavan reaches a safe spot and checks his pockets, only to find them empty. [Funny Music palys] A moment of realization dawns upon him as a flashback reveals the wallet falling into the car during his frantic escape.
Pavan’s expression shifts from surprise to resignation as he acknowledges his mistake, a touch of humor mingling with his sense of helplessness. The screen fades to black, leaving Pavan to ponder his misadventure.
