By lighting unseen struggles, Haridwar’s Slum Portrait photography offers awareness and support for those who silently face hardships.
As I traveled around Haridwar, Uttarakhand, my camera caught moving stories of poor kids near the Gange river. I photographed their hungry looks, innocent faces, and eyes full of tears as I attempted photojournalism. A harsh reality where innocence met tragedy was made clear by the riverbank. I wanted to raise awareness of the difficulties these kids face by creating strong slum portraits. That tell a story of their determination in the face of difficulties.
Sadness torn clothing innocent tears.
Struggling Childhood Emotional part of slum hardships.
A young child in a torne dress tears during the difficulties of the slum. And the unhappy look on the face of an innocent boy creates an emotional portrait that conveys the harsh reality of their everyday struggle.
Morning Sadness cloudy morning, fear overtook.
Innocence Worries Fear imprinted on helpless faces.
A fear-filled, mud-covered girl stays with her father by the side of the road in a hitting photo moment. In parallel, a worried young girl sits in front of her house. Portraying a vivid picture of unexpected exposure and raw emotion that captures the variety of human connection and experience.
Quiet Despair River’s silent echo alone boy.
her gaze Dreams Seen innocence brightened eyes.
In Haridwar, by the river of the Ganges, the boy is standing there alone and depressed. A young child with a mesmerizing vibe is captured in the cool morning light. A picture perfectly captured in the dreamy moments of that peaceful meeting. Her eyes clear in the cold morning light, tells a tale of innocence and wonder.
Slum Hardness Suffering comforts of mother’s arms.
Family Struggle Strong times in the face of poverty.
A young child sits next to her mother in the middle of Haridwar’s slums, both of them gracefully struggling to survive. Her mouth infection is a powerful testament to the challenges that she faced. In the distance, a father and daughter in a poor environment share a roadside moment; this inspiring photojournalistic expression of stability.
Haridwar’s portrait photography, which calls on society to band together against silent battles, portrays the resolve of its people in the face of sorrow and despair. Through resolute looks and quiet whispers by the river, it combines portraiture with an appeal for compassion and unity.
