Smriti Rai, from Chikmagalur, Karnataka, represents an engaging story pushed by an uncompromising passion for photography. Despite an average academic career in Bachelor of Commerce, her deep experience with photography began a revolutionary path. To her, photography is more than just capturing images; it is a powerful instrument for telling stories. Her lens doesn't just capture events; it creates interesting stories that encourage viewers to immerse themselves in the rich stories she tells. Her main interest is in capturing the essence of people, streets, and architectural marvels, with each photo expressing volumes about their individual stories through her lens. Her decision was motivated by a desire to make an effect, realizing that her photos had the capacity to reveal truths and provoke emotions that words alone may struggle to convey.

Having completed a Professional Diploma in the Art of Photography and Cinematography at Creative Hut Institute of Photography, Kerala during the academic year 2020-21, she has sharpened her talents in mastering the technical details and techniques that lead to mesmerising Photography. Her proficiency is further exemplified by her Kerala Government Technical Examination (KGTE) certification in photography and an NSQF level Certification as a Director of Photography from Media & Entertainment Skills Council under Skill India.

She has also done a Photography Portfolio titled “Melange”. Her art is more than just a documentation of moments; it is an elegant narration that throws light on the hidden, unrecognized, and awe-inspiring aspects of existence. Her photography acts as a tool to call attention to issues that often escape the mainstream look, all in the hopes of leaving an indelible impression on the viewer.
