The Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary, covering an area of barely 25 km, and located about 12 km from Kothamangalam Kerala state, in India, was the best bird sanctuary in Kerala. It’s an adventure trekking through the thick forest with the birds flying overhead. Capturing the photos with the river background in the sanctuary is a wonderful experience. I do not want this moment to pass and I think that if I move even a tiny bit, or even if a single leaf around me flutters, this one moment will shatter into pieces and I’ll wake from a wonderful dream. Wildlife trips provide the most opportunities for capturing photos.

Wonders of Birds in Thattekkad Sanctuary
Searching the birds walking around the sanctuary, exploration of the whole area etc., are the objectives of a forest explorer. Birds make use of their bills to perform various functions, and it is typically seen that the beak is shaped corresponding to their eating habits. Ornithologists, therefore, are able to identify several characteristics of birds by observing the shape. The usual morning birds eaters, barbets, honey guides along with weaver birds were merrily chattering roaming from tree to tree in the sanctuary early morning.
