    Most importantly, this course is for developing your creativity and technical understanding of digital photography. As a result, the aim is to strengthen your foundation in photography. It covers the understanding of photography, photographic techniques, history of photography, history of the camera and camera, the structures of digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) and mirrorless cameras, camera settings, different kinds of lenses, DSLR cameras, aspects of photography, exposure triangle etc...

    The first step towards exploring photography is to know technical aspects of your camera and its accessories. Learning the basics of DSLR and mirrorless photography is what makes your foundation in photography and cinematography stronger.

    INTRODUCTION TO PHOTOGRAPHY

    Photojournalism is journalistic writing that uses images to tell stories. It usually only refers specifically to still images, but it can also refer to video that has been used in video journalism.

    Photojournalism is an industry where visual storytelling plays a vital role. Students here not only learn to convey messages through their images but they also make reports of the factual aspects of the topics through their writing. They develop the ability to interpret and create meaningful information in the forms of text and visuals. Especially, if they're suitable for different types of media.

    The Languages and Aesthetics of Lighting

    Light is the language of photography and pattern of light convey information just as surely as spoken words. The information that light conveys is clear and specific.

    The emphasis here is having an understanding of the lighting technique. With studio equipment, not only with studio equipment but with both the natural lights (sunlight) and artificial studio lights. Photography is taken to the next step by studying the qualities of the light, and modifying the lighting in terms of highlights and shadow, form, texture and colour, etc...

    Like any other language, lighting has a grammar and a dictionary. Luckily, photography lighting is a lot easier than mastering a foreign language. Physics, not social whims, makes the rules.

    The Physics and Aesthetics of Light

    Students start by learning how to use strobe lights, then learn how to modify them, explore the use of speed lights in photography, and control over light to create images with depth and form.

    of Cinematography

    A cinematographer creates a unique setting for the creative vision and technical expertise required for a career as a cinematographer.

    Students here are taught about moving images. Especially, this session was more interesting and interactive. The course covers all important aspects of advertising with the right ingredients by covering marketing strategies, budgeting, creative, and familiarizing yourself, Documentary and short film making.

    A cinematographer also known as director of photography is someone who has mastered the use of movie cameras and their technical and artistic capabilities. A cinematographer interprets the director’s vision into reality by capturing the story into moving images. The cinematography program includes all aspects of art revolving around handling camera angles, lighting to help control various shots, etc., including the post-production phase. This program includes a series of activities including workshops, technical expertise, project assignments, and classroom sessions.

    Understanding of the videographic techniques, settings, camera settings, camera angles, etc., and understanding the lighting as per it is important.

    Principle of Visual Grammar

    Furthermore, they learn to prepare story, storyboards, and screenplay for short films, documentaries and advertisements. Learn screenwriting for feature films, commercials, documentaries, etc.

    Individuals at this job need to determine the visual style of the production. They finalize locations and equipment that will be used. During shoots, they guide efforts of the camera crew and collaborate with lighting and grips to capture the desired look for the end-product.

    MES/ Q 0903 Assistant Cameraman (NSQF Level 4)

    Individuals at this job are responsible to mark focus lengths based on the required composition and focus and refocus the camera lenses during shoots. They are also responsible to set-up/dismantle camera equipment.

    This style is used mainly in bridal magazines or for portraying bridal fashion. Wedding photographers often use couples as models for their photos, resulting in dramatic shots. And also covers Product and Food Photography.

    Advertising and commercial photography sessions include the understanding of trends in clothing and its requirements.

    Furthermore, this Fashion and wedding photo shoot course session, is all-about capturing the moods and expressions. Students here also learn the aspects of capturing real moments in wedding photography. They also acquire the practical fashion shoots and conceptual shoots, outdoor and studio photography with appropriate lighting settings.

    Travel photography is a type of photography that documents landscapes, people, cultures, traditions, and history.

    Wildlife photography is a type of photography concerned with documenting different types of wildlife in their natural habitats.

    This course is designed to teach you how to capture nature photography and its wonderful animals through wildlife photography. Students learn from animal behavior to ecology and conservation, and practical knowledge about insects photography, birds and animals photography. This particular session of the travel and wildlife photography course allows the students to explore different parts of Kerala. Students are also given opportunities to take part in national and international nature and wildlife photography tours, which include visits to parks and reserves.

    Landscape Photography

    First stage, is about applying different perspectives of composing and capturing the various elements of nature. For example, in the concept of nature photographs, landscape photography, and travel photography.

    UNIT - II
    Macro Photography

    Next level is to understand how to use different accessories and capture the tiny insects and capture them with appropriate composition. Not only the macro, but also the birds, reptiles, amphibians, etc...

    Wildlife Photography

    Lastly, its part of understanding & capturing the actions & emotions of birds and animals. We travel through the different parks and forests. Finally we work for our portfolio.

    Photographs are used as a medium of persuasion because they control the emotions of the viewer. The production of images for communication with their viewers undergoes a critical stage.

    The course intends to develop both the communicative and soft skills of the learners thus developing him/her to be more productive at the workplace. The course follows the task based, process to product and activity oriented curriculum. Here learning is knowledge construction and learners interact with the study materials, with the teachers and the peer groups and with his surroundings to generate knowledge.

    Communication is undoubtedly an important part of any profession. Therefore, students are here to develop both communication skills and soft skills. As a result, people who use them become more productive at their jobs.     Editing photos is the act of changing the appearance of an image. Video editing is the process of manipulating and arranging video shots.

    This course teaches practical skills for photo editing. You'll learn multiple editing programs including Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. And also teach Adobe Illustrator & Adobe InDesign software for Book Design, Album Design and Portfolio Design

    During video editing sessions, We focus on Adobe Prelude, Adobe Premier Pro. And also teach Adobe Audition for audio editing. The focus of this lesson is discovering how professionals work taking footage starting to finish.  With grading, you get to really define your creative and artistic style. Editing is usually considered to be just one part of the post-production process — other post-proces­sion tasks include titling, color correction, sound mixing, and so on.

    Create a portfolio in photography and brand book, and finally make a short film or documentary film.

    Practical subjects require each candidate to work out individually and create their own portfolio. A photography portfolio can be built on your main specialization or portfolio can be built on different subjects. And cinematography students will be able to prepare a story, screenplay, storyboard and cinematography. And needs makes short films or documentaries will be the collection, voices, dialogues, music, videos, interviews etc.

    The student should undertake an industrial internship at any photographic studio /media organisation/ film Industry or related industrial establishment/professionals etc.

    Interns should ensure they attend every day of their internship. Absence if any is allowed based on the merits of the case. If you attend less than 80% of the internship period, you will not receive credit for the internship. The internship is intended for students to gain real world experience operating cameras, lighting setups, shooting and editing under the supervision of industry professionals It refers to work experiences that are relevant to professional development prior to the completion of the program.

    Students must take care of the infrastructures of the hostel and the institute such as plates, cups, iron box, washing machine, shelves, cot, table, chairs, fans, studio accessories, etc... and maintain it properly. If any repairs and maintenance of the same is required due to its damage or improper handling, then it will be borne by the students.

    PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR

    Best Portfolio, Tour is essential We organize National and International tours during the courses. However, it is to be noted that the cost of these tours need to be borne by the students themselves. Henceforth, the tour costs and expense will be informed to the students. Another key point, is that all tours are not compulsory.

    Diploma in Photography : Eligibility Criteria

    Photography Course after 10th 

    Candidates with a minimum qualification of 10th grade from any state or central board may also apply for the exam. However, on the grounds of their experience in the industry and or the interview with him/her, his/her application for the same may considered.

    Photography Course after 12th

    Any stream (Science, Commerce or Arts) with at least 10+2 passes from a recognized board. Students who meet these requirements are eligible to take this course.

    Photography Courses after Graduation

    Any Graduation students can also apply. Graduation is not compulsory. An entrance exam cannot fulfill to find an applicant. We need a student who is willing to do hard work and has patience.

    Diploma in Photography : DURATION

    Candidates will be pursuing this course with the study structure implemented by the institute, from time to time. Particularly, there are instructional classes including the theory classes, practical classes, fieldwork, and Portfolio of altogether 1 Year duration ie. 216 to 240 days.

    Note : This total duration includes the sessions to cover the syllabus of PDAP,  KGTE & MESC.
